09年青少年直選獎將會公佈青少年在電影、電視、音樂、體育和時尚界裡，心目中最喜歡的偶像，將由他們來投票選出。這兩個小時由偶像群集的頒獎典禮將會在8月10日星期一，晚間八點～十點，於FOX頻道獨家撥出。
Twilight（暮光之城）與其的演員在今年的青少年直選獎，驚人的包了十二項提名。High School Musical 3: Senior Year（歌舞青春３：畢業季）和其演員、Miley Cyrus（麥莉）和Gossip Girl（花邊教主）演員也分別佔據了十項提名，至於American Idol（美國偶像）則獲得了七項提名。

另外，今年的主持人，Jonas Brothers也包了九項提名，提名如下：直選電影（歌舞類）、直選電視演員（喜劇類）、直選電視節目（最佳突破節目）、直選歌曲（情歌類）、直選紅毯偶像（男性）、直選音樂專輯（團體類）、直選巡迴演唱、直選電影原聲帶、直選最性感男偶像…
